Chelsea ‘made enquiry’ for Lewis-Skelly, Mudryk ‘to leave on loan’, and 11th signing confirmed | OneFootball

Chelsea’s pursuit of Arsenal midfielder Myles Lewis-Skelly remains unclear, while Mykhailo Mudryk could leave on loan and Pep Chavarría has been confirmed as a new signing.

According to Hounslow Herald, Sky Sports reports Chelsea made an enquiry for the 19-year-old, whereas the Telegraph says they declined an intermediary-led offer.

Arsenal’s £75m move for Bruno Guimaraes has fuelled exit talk. However, The Athletic indicates Lewis-Skelly has no desire to leave the Emirates. The Premier League champion forced his way into Mikel Arteta’s midfield by season’s end and started the Champions League final.

Chelsea registered interest in January, but a transfer now looks unlikely, and Arsenal are reportedly reluctant to sell to a direct rival.

Elsewhere, goalkeeper Filip Jorgensen has joined sister club Strasbourg on loan, having made 36 appearances in two years at Stamford Bridge, and he has made clear his wish for more regular football.

Chelsea have signed Spanish left-back Pep Chavarría from Rayo Vallecano on a five-year deal worth an initial £16m, rising to £18m with add-ons. The 28-year-old is the club’s 11th arrival of the window.

Mudryk is rebuilding fitness after a 20-month doping suspension and featured off the bench in pre-season against Juventus, AC Milan and Johor Darul Ta'zim on the Asia tour.

He is understood to have agreed to leave on loan before the 1 September deadline. Strasbourg has been proposed given the shared ownership, though he is said to prefer another Premier League club, with interest also emerging from Italy.
