Chelsea have made a desperate attempt to claim that they do sign established players and have tried to sign them.
It’s been an awful week all around for Chelsea even though they have not played any matches. It doesn’t help that the international break came off the back of four defeats in a row for Liam Rosenior and this Chelsea team.

Then came the scathing public comments from two of the ‘leaders’ in the team, Enzo Fernandez and Marc Cucurella, both of them twerking for other clubs and Cucurella questioning the Chelsea project as well as Rosenior.
And now, Chelsea are attempting to counter all that with a bunch of briefings to the media, claiming that they do sign established players, one of the many grumbles from the fan base, and they even tried to sign an ‘international defender’ in January!

In The Guardian, it claims there are suggestions of a shift in recruitment this summer; that part of the focus on youth stemmed from a desire to reset after money wasted on older players. Sources insist there is no definitive policy around signing only raw talent. João Pedro was an established Premier League player when he joined from Brighton last summer. Chelsea also considered a top international defender in January.
Well done for trying Chelsea, well done chaps.
Liam Rosenior faces a tough press conference later today, with his players’ international break comments adding to the list of difficult questions he’s going to come up against in the Port Vale preview.
Enzo Fernandez’ comments about Chelsea were made possible by the leadership vacuum at the club says former player John Obi Mikel.
