Chelsea make Liam Rosenior sack decision after poor run of results | OneFootball

Chelsea manager Liam Rosenior is under pressure following a run of poor results and performances.

After getting knocked out by Paris Saint-Germain in the Champions League, the Blues suffered a humbling 3-0 loss at Everton in the Premier League on Saturday.

Chelsea have now lost their last four matches across all competitions, conceding 12 goals and scoring just twice.

Despite the dip in form, the BBC reports that Chelsea are not preparing to sack Rosenior ‘either now or at the end of the season’.

Chelsea’s hierarchy believe that the English tactician took over earlier than planned and are ready to back him.

Rosenior has been involved in transfer meetings with sporting directors Paul Winstanley and Laurence Stewart, underlining the support he continues to receive.

Only three teams have collected more points than Chelsea since his appointment. Yet, there are concerns that the club could miss out on Champions League qualification.

Players are frustrated with the recent poor run of form which has coincided with Rosenior’s introduction of his own training methods and tactics.

Vice-captain Enzo Fernandez recently alluded to the frustration of sacking Enzo Maresca, who he claims gave them ‘identity, structure and direction’.

While Rosenior enjoys the support of the club’s management, he now has to ensure he gets the players and fans on his side before the end of the season.

The international break gives the 41-year-old time to address Chelsea’s dip in form.

The west London outfit host Port Vale in the FA Cup quarter-final on April 4, followed by consecutive home league matches against Manchester City and Manchester United.
