The Best FIFA Football Awards” is the overall annual awards ceremony hosted by FIFA, the sport’s governing body, to honor the top performers in football. The main individual prizes presented at this gala are for the best male and female players of the year.

These awards were established in 2016 after FIFA’s six-year partnership with France Football for the FIFA Ballon d’Or ended. So basically, they are FIFA’s version of the Ballon d’Or.

Chelsea have had Moises Caicedo, Enzo Fernandez, Cole Palmer, and Joao Pedro up for nominations in individual categories, as well as Enzo Maresca nominated in the best head coach category.

That’s quite an impressive amount of Chelsea representation in the nominations for the awards. We will have to see if any of them have a chance of winning but for me, I think Caicedo stands the best chance. He’s been colossal, consistent, and has turned into a world class player.

Chelsea Women’s nominations

The successful Women’s team also have strong representation in the awards.

Sonia Bompastor has been nominated for FIFA’s The Best Women’s Coach.

Sandy Baltimore, Nathalie Bjorn, Lucy Bronze, and Lauren James have all been nominated FIFA’s #TheBest Award.

Once again, a very impressive amount of nominations in this one.

We will have to follow it closely and see the results soon.
