Chelsea midfielder Enzo Fernandez has further fuelled talk of a potential move to Real Madrid after admitting he would ‘like to live in Spain’.

Fernandez is understood to be on Real Madrid’s radar for the summer transfer window, as the La Liga giants plot additions in midfield.

The Argentine previously failed to dismiss the speculation after saying he ‘didn’t know’ where his future lay, after being asked if he would still be a Chelsea player during an interview with ESPN earlier this season.

“I don’t know. Right now I’m focused on here, then there’s the World Cup, and we’ll see,” he said at the time.

Fernandez has now added further fuel to the fire by opening up on his fondness for Spain. Speaking in a YouTube interview, the midfielder compared Madrid to Buenos Aires and said he’d like to experience living in the city.

“I’d like to live in Spain, I really like Madrid; it reminds me of Buenos Aires,” he said, having been asked where aside from London he’d like to experience.

“Players live where they want. I’d live in Madrid. I get by in English, but I’d be more comfortable in Spanish.”
