Chelsea were dominated in terms of possession by Manchester City in the first half, despite doing a good job in slowing the game down and breaking their opposition’s attacks up.
In the second period they came out and attacked more, and that allowed them to force City back and keep it to 1-0. That put them in position to strike with a late equaliser.

Trevoh Chalobah speaks to Chelsea TV about the draw with Man City.
Interim coach Calum McFarlane spoke a lot about the tactics he had used in that second period, but defender Trevoh Chalobah pointed out it was more about spirit than positions on the pitch:
“You can talk about tactics, but it’s the spirit, the mentality and the togetherness that really showed today. When we were 1-0 down in the first half, we supported each other and kept each other up,” Chalobah said.
“To come here and get a point against a very good side that’s in form at the moment is unbelievable for us, and I’m really happy for the team.”
It all began at the back where Chalobah coped as the key central defender, with Wesley Fofana out. Robert Sanchez, Moises Caicedo and Marc Cucurella were missing too, but the spirit and belief of this group got the job done.
They all deserve huge credit for that togetherness. We hope to see more of it.

Chalobah also spoke about how pleased he was to get the result after a difficult week for him and his teammates.
Andrey Santos was praised by Calum McFarlane for his impact yesterday, and no matter who comes in as the new coach, the Brazilian looks likely to be one of the big beneficiaries.
