A current Chelsea player will apparently ‘be one of’ Gianfranco Zola, Eden Hazard, Juan Mata, in the very near future.

That is the opinion of one former Chelsea player who has been speaking about the Blues man this week as we get towards the end of another international break.

Chelsea winger Estevao Willian has burst onto the scene this season and looks like the real deal. He is already an important player for his national side Brazil at the age of just 18. He was not expected to start their latest game earlier this week and thankfully he didn’t, he only came on as a late sub.

Estevao is the type of maverick player who will bring the pure joy back to watching Chelsea again, along with players such as Cole Palmer as well, who is also that type of player.

Former Chelsea player Pat Nevin is the latest to be raving about Estevao in a Chelsea shirt and forecasting just how good he is going to become.

In words picked up on X, Nevin said:

“Style-wise, Chelsea have got this long list from Gianfranco Zola, Eden Hazard, Juan Mata was much, much loved down there.

“Estevao will be one of them. If Chelsea treat him right, if they stick by him, if he doesn’t get injured, he will be in that pantheon.”

He continued:

“I was at the Chelsea v Liverpool game just the other week and the ball went out to [Estevao] and the noise in the stadium is different from every single other player.

“That is wow, not many can do that. So nice solid start, but he’s a kid that can go wherever he likes. He’s unbelievably good.”
