With Reece James expected to miss up to two months off action after sustaining a hamstring injury, Chelsea will be relying on Malo Gusto in the coming weeks, including against Paris Saint-Germain in the UEFA Champions League on Tuesday night.
However, as Chelsea look to overturn a 5-2 deficit at Stamford Bridge, there are also doubts surrounding the France international, as Liam Rosenior confirmed in his pre-match press conference. Gusto has cold-like symptoms and so did not train on Monday.
There is also doubt surrounding Wesley Fofana, who is struggling with muscular fatigue. L’Équipe, however, understands that both will start for Chelsea on Tuesday. In the midfield, Romeo Lavia may get the nod to play alongside Moises Caicedo, with Enzo Fernandez once again in the No.10 role.
