Chelsea project “misguided”: Joe Cole points out biggest mistake of BlueCo plan | OneFootball

Chelsea took another loss last night, with a backdrop of protests against the ownership. Things are really at boiling point at Stamford Bridge.

Various pundits have had their say on the matter, including some with Chelsea links. Joe Cole, for example had been pretty positive about the project for a long time, but is now starting to admit it’s not fit for purpose.

Joe Cole blames “misguided” ownership for bad spending

“They’ve been misguided. They’ve taken the wrong steps on the ladder for a few years now… there’s not enough footballing wisdom within the organisational structure within the club. ” the former Blues winger said on TNT Sports after the defeat last night.

“They’ve got a lot of things wrong, and the money they’ve spent could have been spent better, in a better direction… it’s great if they’re saying they’re going to tweak the model, but I think that goes without saying.”

In other news…

After the game, Liam Rosenior was barely able to confirm that Cole Palmer wouldn’t be leaving if the Blues don’t qualify for the Champions League.

The Chelsea manager gave an update on Enzo Fernandez after the midfielder went off injured.

Rosenior was at least able to find one positive from his team’s ongoing schedule.
