FC Barcelona are in the market for a new centre-forward heading into the summer transfer window, with Julian Alvarez being the priority target.
However, with difficulties expected in executing a deal with Atletico Madrid, the Blaugrana are keeping an eye on alternatives in the market.
One such option being considered as Plan B at Can Barça happens to be Chelsea striker Joao Pedro, who is seen as a good fit because of his age, profile, and versatility.
However, according to ESPN Brasil, Chelsea have already made it known, through third parties, that Joao Pedro is not for sale this summer.
The Blues signed the 24-year-old Brazilian forward from Brighton & Hove Albion in 2025 for a fee of over €60 million.

In his first year at the club, he has netted 19 goals and assisted nine more from 46 matches in all competitions.
Contracted with the Premier League giants until 2033, Pedro’s valuation stands at around €100 million as per the report, and the club have no intention of selling him in the summer.
Furthermore, the report states that the Brazilian international himself is not thinking about leaving Chelsea in the upcoming summer transfer window.
Pedro’s full focus is on finishing the season strongly with the Blues and then preparing for the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
So, despite their interest, Barcelona are unlikely to be successful in bringing Pedro to the club in the summer. They will likely have to identify other options as possible alternatives for Alvarez, with his compatriot Lautaro Martinez being one such option.
