The player is currently with Independiente del Valle, a club renowned for developing top talents in Ecuador. Although he has yet to make his professional debut, Ordonez is regarded as one of the most promising young defenders of his generation.

The deal stipulates that Ordonez will join Chelsea in January 2028, once he reaches the required age to sign officially. Several clubs, including Liverpool, were already tracking him, but Chelsea appears to have taken the lead in this race.
