Chelsea seizing offers chance for Kenedy

Chelsea winger Kenedy could be set for a fresh chance after the club's ban on renewing player contracts.

The winger has made just one appearance for the Blues in the last four years, having been loaned out five times since moving to the club in 2015.

However, the sanctions imposed on the club could see the 25-year-old handed an opportunity in the first team next season as part of a depleted squad, says the Daily Star.

Chelsea are currently unable to renew any contracts or sign players, leaving them set to lose a minimum of five current members of Thomas Tuchel's squad.

Antonio Rudiger, Andreas Christensen, Cesar Azpilicueta and Charly Musonda are all out of contract in the summer, whilst Saul Niguez's loan from Atletico Madrid will end.

In addition, three returning loan players are also out of contract at the end of this season, meaning Tuchel's squad is currently set to include just 22 players.

This could allow Kenedy a chance to resurrect his career in west London, having recently been recalled early from a loan spell at Flamengo.

Since coming back to the club, Kenedy has made one appearance, against Luton Town in the FA Cup, the first time he has played for Chelsea since 2018.
