Chelsea set to sell striker David Datro Fofana to Swiss club Servette FC | OneFootball

Chelsea have an agreement in place with Servette FC for the transfer of striker David Datro Fofana.

According to journalist Sacha Tavolieri, the Blues will receive around £3 million in total for the striker from the Swiss club.

Servette FC have offered a three-year contract to the Ivory Coast international, who could travel to Switzerland this morning to complete his transfer.

The Blues will receive an initial £2.1 million, with around £900,000 to be paid in add-ons.

Datro Fofana joined the Blues from Molde for £10 million in 2023. He played four times for the club before a series of loans.

He has played for Union Berlin, Burnley and Goztepe on loan from Chelsea in the last three years, but has not found a permanent home.

He scored eight goals in 15 appearances for Turkish top-flight side Fatih Karagumruk in the first half of the 2025-26 season before Chelsea recalled him.

He spent the rest of the season on loan at Strasbourg, where he failed to score a single goal.

Datro Fofana was very highly regarded when Chelsea brought him in, but he has failed to live up to the initial hype.

He has been training on his own after being designated as a member of the infamous ‘bomb squad’ in 2024.

The Ivorian will be pleased to leave the club on a permanent basis, as it will guarantee him some much-needed stability in his career.

Chelsea’s mass exodus will continue in the final few days of the transfer window, with several players still to be sold before deadline day.
