Chelsea have announced the signing of 35-year-old striker Danny Welbeck from Brighton & Hove Albion.
The England international, capped 42 times, spent the last six seasons with the Seagulls and, in 2025/26, played 40 matches and scored 14 goals. Welbeck has signed a two-year deal with the Blues, running until June 2028.
Welbeck will represent his sixth club in the Premier League, after playing for Manchester United, Sunderland, Arsenal, Watford and Brighton.
"It is a real honour to join a club of this stature at such an exciting time. I already know some of the players and I've had fantastic conversations with the manager — I already feel that connection," Welbeck told the London club's official channels.
Welbeck is likely to be joined by another veteran to add experience to Chelsea's ranks with Jordan Henderson expected to sign for the Blues shortly.
