We always like to see who the best and worst rated Chelsea players are after a match, and WhoScored had Moises Caicedo as the best Blue on the pitch with an 8/10 rating, not something many fans would disagree with.

Also highly rated in the draw was Wesley Fofana, which would not be something most fans agreed with. He got a 7.5, but only because his misjudged header which led to the Man United draw was somehow not counted as an error.

Cole Palmer was given the third best Chelsea rating at 7.3, and while we saw plenty of nice touches and good moments, he would be the first to say he didn’t have his best game.

Madueke needs to step up as early season form fades away.

There’s no doubt that the team that played yesterday (which is quite clearly Enzo Maresca’s first choice team at the moment, given it was unchanged from the side that beat Newcastle the week before) has some players under pressure and in need of a good game or two.

Noni Madueke’s early season shine has come off a little, and it’s a while since we saw him at his best. His last goal or assist came a month ago against Nottingham Forest, and that return isn’t good enough if he wants to be a decisive player at the top of the table.

His issue is also that there is a lot of pressure on the wingers, with so many options available. Pedro Neto could easily take his place on the right if Maresca wants to bring Jadon Sancho back into the team on the left.

If Madueke finds himself getting a start in the Conference League this week, he should be very worried about his first team place – although we’re confident Maresca will at the very least give him this weekend’s Arsenal game as another chance to shine.
