Chelsea striker Nicolas Jackson is reportedly not giving up on his ‘dream’ transfer to Bayern Munich next summer.

Jackson joined Bayern on loan from Chelsea on transfer deadline day last summer, but the striker has struggled for consistent game time since arriving in Germany.

The 24-year-old remains under a long-term contract at Chelsea, although doubts persist over his long-term future at the London club.

Nicolas Jackson: Current situation at Bayern Munich

Jackson fell out of favour under former Chelsea boss Enzo Maresca, before completing his loan move to Bayern in dramatic circumstances during the summer transfer window.

The Senegal international had dropped down the pecking order at Stamford Bridge following the arrivals of Liam Delap and Joao Pedro. On transfer deadline day, Jackson ultimately sealed a loan switch to Bayern after reportedly refusing to return to Chelsea.

Bayern paid Chelsea around €13.5m to secure his services, and they have an obligation to sign him permanently, although that clause would only be triggered if Jackson starts 40 games across all competitions.

Jackson has made 15 appearances in the Bundesliga, but started in only five of them, scoring three goals. He has alos featured four appearances in the Champions League, scoring two goals and registering an assist.

Christian Falk informed CFBayern that Bayern have already decided not to renegotiate a permanent deal for Jackson in the summer and are currently not planning to sign him.

Nicolas Jackson still dreams of Bayern Munich stay

Falk believes Jackson’s chances of staying at Bayern are almost zero after failing to fully convince the club’s hierarchy.

However, according to Sun journalist Rahman Osman, Jackson has not given up hope of securing a permanent move to the Bavarian club.

Vincent Kompany has recently held a candid conversation with the forward, reportedly reassuring him that he remains an important member of the squad and that no final decision will be made until the end of the season.

Jackson remains confident that he can still play a key role for Bayern in the months ahead, while sources close to the player continue to deny that the club have already made a definitive decision regarding his future.
