Chelsea striker Liam Delap has been surprisingly linked with a move to Newcastle United in the next summer transfer window.
Delap has struggled a lot since arriving at Chelsea from Ipswich Town in the summer of 2025. Long term injuries have not helped him at all but also, in the chances he has got, he’s been far from good enough so far in a Chelsea shirt.

This could lead to speculation about his future, and we are now already seeing such speculation as we head towards the summer of 2026.
Newcastle United are being linked with Delap, and I am sure that they will not be the only club linked with him as we approach the end of another season and into another long transfer window.

According to a report from The Daily Mail this week, Newcastle are looking to sign a striker in the summer, and Liam Delap is another name to keep an eye on.
Newcastle wanted to sign Delap last year before he chose the Blues.
So it really just looks like they are putting two and two together here and coming up with five. It doesn’t even say that they are interested in Delap, just that he’s one name to keep an eye on.
Goalkeeper Filip Jorgensen has been slammed for some of his actions post game at PSG earlier this week. After what was a nightmare performance from the Blues stopper, he then tried to ignore Chelsea fans and walk off down the tunnel.
Reece James has tried to claim the PSG tie isn’t over yet – but we’re all being realistic about that now. Of course, factually it is not over, but realistically, it is all but over. Chelsea need to score three goals next week without conceding, to even take it to extra time.
