Chelsea submit Mike Maignan bid | OneFootball

Chelsea have submitted a bid for AC Milan goalkeeper Mike Maignan (29), according to a report from Fabrizio Romano.

Robert Sanchez and Filip Jorgensen had inconsistent campaigns in goal for Chelsea, however, the Premier League side did not look set to strengthen in this area initially. Enzo Maresca also wanted to observe the returning Djordje Petrovic during the upcoming FIFA World Cup.

However, the plan has seemingly changed. The club have a strong interest in Maignan, whose contract at AC Milan expires at the end of next season. It is his contract situation that is causing a huge gap in the goalkeeper’s valuation. Chelsea value him at just €10m, AC Milan at €30m.

Chelsea have now submitted a bid worth €15m, as per Romano. The Premier League side, who next season will return to the UEFA Champions League, want a final answer from AC Milan before the end of the special FIFA World Cup transfer window on Tuesday.
