Morgan Rogers was very expensive, but has made an instant impact at Chelsea and can pay back that fee eventually if he keeps going.

The three week international break is going to mean content is stretched pretty thin, so we expect plenty of things like this.

TransferMarkt have just done a ranking of the top 10 Premier League transfers this summer by impact, and a Chelsea player is top of the list.

Rogers rated as top Premier League signing

It is of course Morgan Rogers, who they actually rate as the best signing in the league in terms of impact, after five games.

It’s actually pretty hard to argue with the stats on this one, as they point out:

“Despite being a club-record fee and an record fee for an English player, the €138m Chelsea paid Aston Villa for Morgan Rogers was supposed to provide ready-made instant impact… and it has. The 24-year-old has scored three goals and provided four assists in six games, and is already showcasing that he is one of the biggest talents in the Premier League.”

We just need to get the defence sorted and Rogers’ goals and assists will mean even more.

In other news…

Estevao is set to play a fair amount for Brazil in this international break, and Carlo Ancelotti has already said he intends to help the youngster get some of the minutes he’s missing with Chelsea.

Another player in the Brazil squad for this window is Gabriel Bontempo, who is expected to make his debut for Ancelotti. 

Marco Palestra is close to a return from an injury that’s kept him out for the whole season so far.
