Chelsea tipped to launch January move for key Barcelona star | OneFootball

A leading member of the defensive ranks at La Liga giants Barcelona has on Thursday been linked with a move to the Premier League.

The player in question? Jules Koundé.

Stopper Koundé is for his part in the midst of a fine start to the campaign, proving himself nothing short of an integral figure in the setup of new head coach Hansi Flick.

This comes on the back of a standout season for the former Sevilla standout in 2023/24, as well as an excellent showing at the European Championships over the summer.

With such consistent performances comes inevitable outside interest, with a number of top clubs from across the continent understood to be keen admirers of Koundé’s talents.

And, as alluded to above, if the latest word stemming from the media is anything to go by, then one such side could soon table an offer for his signature.

As per a report from Mundo Deportivo, citing sources in England, Premier League heavyweights Chelsea are ready to reignite their pursuit of the 25-year-old.

The Blues, who also expressed an interest in Koundé prior to his Camp Nou switch, are understood to be preparing a January bid worth somewhere in the region of €60 million for the Frenchman.

It is also noted, however, that Barcelona are highly unlikely to accept as much, particularly mid-season.
