The Blues are nearing a full agreement with Mheuka, and he is expected to choose his loan destination this week.

The youngster will follow in the footsteps of fellow academy star Jesse Derry in leaving Stamford Bridge on loan this summer.

The England U-19 international was captain of the Blues’ Under-21 squad in their impressive 2025-26 Premier League 2 campaign.

Mheuka scored 20 goals in 21 appearances to help them win the title. He was the top scorer in the league and named as the Player of the Year.

He made his senior debut for the club as a 17-year-old in the 2024-25 season.

Mheuka initially joined the club as a 14-year-old from Brighton & Hove Albion and has risen through the ranks at a remarkable pace.

He has trained with the first-team this summer, but was left out of their pre-season tour squad as he finalises a loan move away from the club.

Chelsea have six senior strikers on their books, necessitating a temporary move away from Stamford Bridge for the highly-rated youngster.
