In a recent report, journalist Graeme Bailey revealed that Chelsea are keeping tabs on Nordsjaelland midfielder Celeb Yirenkyi. It has been stated that the Blues would have to compete with Manchester United, Arsenal and Brighton and Hove Albion in the race to land the Ghanaian talent this summer.

Yirenkyi’s Impressive Rise In Danish Football

The 20-year-old has come through the youth ranks of Nordsjaelland and has done well to establish himself to be an important member of their senior team. Yirenkyi has scored two goals and earned five assists in 26 matches for the Danish club this season across all competitions.

The Ghanaian sensation is currently among the best young midfielders in Denmark. Hence, it is no wonder that the Blues are monitoring his progress ahead of a potential move for him in this summer transfer period.

His current contract at Nordsjaelland will run out in the summer of 2030, which could make it tough for Chelsea to sign him on a cut-price deal later this year.

Chelsea Are Keeping Tabs On Yirenkyi: Is He A Prospect For The Future?

Yirenkyi is full of energy and running in the middle of the park. He can strike the ball with power from long range and has got the eye to play some decisive passes in and around the opponent’s penalty area.

The Ghanaian midfield ace is a good dribbler with the ball as well and can chip in by scoring and creating a few important goals for his team. However, only time will tell whether he can adapt to the physical style and high intensity of the Premier League if the Blues manage to get a deal done for him this summer.

Yirenkyi would undoubtedly enhance the quality of Chelsea boss Liam Rosenior’s midfield department in the long run. He is already good enough to serve as a useful, rotational piece in the West London club’s squad.

At 20, Yirenkyi has got the potential to be a future star in English football as long as he continues to improve with each season. He is a prospect to watch out for in the future, so Chelsea would be wise to try everything they can to win the race for his services this off-season.
