Chelsea return to Stamford Bridge this weekend knowing the margin for error in the Premier League remains slim. A 2-2 draw away at Leeds United left a lingering sense of waste, particularly after holding a two goal lead. For a side with top four ambitions, those afternoons can feel heavier than defeats.
Liam Rosenior’s team now face Burnley, an opponent arriving in west London under very different emotional conditions. Where Chelsea seek renewed momentum, Burnley travel south attempting to steady themselves after a bruising cup disappointment.
Chelsea vs Burnley kicks off at 3pm GMT on Saturday, February 21, 2026, at Stamford Bridge.
The fixture falls within the UK’s long standing Saturday blackout window, meaning it will not be broadcast live on domestic television.
Supporters can catch highlights via the Sky Sports app and YouTube channel from 5.15pm, while Match of the Day will air extended coverage on BBC One at 10.30pm
There is encouragement within Chelsea’s camp as key names edge closer to involvement.
Cole Palmer is expected back in the matchday squad after missing the Hull City tie, with Rosenior explaining the midfielder is having his “minutes managed.”

Romeo Lavia also returns to contention, strengthening midfield options at a pivotal stage of the campaign.
Defensively, Marc Cucurella remains sidelined with the hamstring injury sustained against Leeds, with no clear timeline on his return. Jamie Gittens, Filip Jorgensen and Dario Essugo are not anticipated back before month’s end, while Levi Colwill continues his long term recovery.
Burnley’s situation is comparatively stable. Axel Tuanzebe, ruled out until March, is the only senior player nearing a comeback, leaving the Clarets otherwise unchanged.
Chelsea’s draw at Elland Road interrupted forward momentum but did little to erode belief in Rosenior’s project. Performances have largely been controlled, assertive, and increasingly cohesive.
Burnley’s week has been more turbulent. A spirited 3-2 league win at Crystal Palace suggested resilience, yet their FA Cup exit to Mansfield Town delivered an abrupt jolt. Cup shocks can linger, particularly for squads balancing survival instincts with confidence.
Away form remains a concern for Burnley, especially against possession dominant sides.
Chelsea’s attacking depth, coupled with home advantage, positions them strongly. Rosenior will want authority restored early, both in performance and scoreboard pressure.
Managing minutes ahead of a looming clash with Arsenal may also influence in game decisions, especially regarding Palmer’s workload.
Burnley possess energy and organisation, but sustaining resistance across ninety minutes at Stamford Bridge presents a different challenge entirely.
