Chelsea conclude their Europa Conference League league phase campaign against Shamrock Rovers this evening.
The Blues take on Irish opposition for the first time in Europe, in what will be a huge occasion for the visitors at Stamford Bridge. Chelsea have taken maximum points from their five games in Europe this season to ease into the knockout rounds. Enzo Maresca’s side have scored 21 goals in five games and sit two points clear of Vitoria SC in the standings.
Shamrock have also impressed in Europe. The League of Ireland outfit are unbeaten in their five games, taking 11 points. A positive result in West London would assure Stephen Bradley’s side of a place in the competition’s last 16.
Enzo Maresca is once again set to rotate his side heavily for a European encounter. After leaving the bulk of his first team at home for last week’s win over FC Astana in Kazakhstan, tonight’s clash is set to see several starlets handed minutes.
Josh Acheampong, who signed a new deal this week, will hope to start at right back, while Samuel Rak-Sakyi, Ato Ampah and Tyriue George will be targeting minutes.
Mykhailo Mudryk is provisionally suspended after an adverse result was found in a drugs test. Cesare Casadei is available after missing the win over Astana through suspension.
Chelsea predicted XI: Jorgensen; Acheampong, Adarabioyo, Disasi, Veiga; Rak-Sakyi, Casadei, Dewsbury-Hall; Ampah, Guiu, George.
Chelsea host Shamrock Rovers in the Europa Conference League on Thursday 19th December 2024. Kick-off at Stamford Bridge is 20:00 GMT.
Chelsea vs Shamrock Rovers will be available to watch on TNT Sports 1, TNT Sports Ultimate and Discovery+.
