Chelsea winger Estevao ‘concerned’ about role under Alonso

Estevao Willian is reportedly concerned about his role under Xabi Alonso at Chelsea.

The arrival of Alonso has seen Chelsea change shape to a 3-4-2-1 system which lacks natural wingers. Morgan Rogers has also signed from Aston Villa for a record £117m and has started both Premier League fixtures in the advanced roles alongside Cole Palmer and Joao Pedro.

Estevao has played just seven minutes across those games and ESPN Brasil are reporting that the 19-year-old has concerns. The winger wants to stay at Chelsea but is weighing up his options should the situation not change ahead of the January transfer window.

Liverpool were linked with a move for the Brazil international late in the transfer window, as the Reds sought a natural right-sided winger.

Estevao has made 38 appearances for Chelsea in all competitions, scoring eight goals, since signing from Palmeiras for an initial £29.1m in 2024.
