Barcelona midfielder Júlia Bartel has become Chelsea Women’s first summer signing.
The 20-year-old joins Sonia Bompastor’s side on a three-year contract, moving from her lifelong club.

Bartel was part of the Blaugrana team which reclaimed its Liga F and Women’s Champions League titles last season.
“Julia is a top young player, who is technically excellent and has good pedigree coming through at Barcelona and the Spanish international youth teams,” said general manager Paul Green.
“She has good leadership skills for someone at a young age and we look forward to seeing her develop in the upcoming years.”
The Blues begin their pre-season preparations with friendlies against Gotham FC and Arsenal in August.
