Cole Palmer’s form has improved of late, but it’s only taken a couple of off games to start up the transfer rumours again.
Sam Allardyce was on his “No Tippy Tappy Football” podcast this week talking about the prospect of Cole Palmer leaving Chelsea. Manchester United continue to be linked, and baseless rumours about Palmer’s unhappiness persist.
“I think Chelsea would always sell at the right price. It’s whether Manchester United have the money that Chelsea would want, but it would certainly be a big signing for Manchester United,” the former Bolton manager said.
“What is he now? 22? 23? He’s just the right age, five, six, seven, eight years in him. This is a particular talent that shone from day one at Chelsea when he left City. Now, there’s been a bit of a lull because of the injury, but he will get back to where he was sooner rather than later. He’s a tremendous talent and I often think that Chelsea in their infrastructure, are always in a position to make a profit.”
By infrastructure we think he means the club’s model of trying to sell players at a profit.

As we’ve said all along, this will all go away when Cole is fully fit and playing well. When he’s scoring and assisting and the team are winning, the smile will be back on his face and nobody will be talking about this any more.
There is no chance Chelsea sell their crown jewel in the near future, and there isn’t any evidence he actually wants to leave anyway.
Liam Rosenior claimed his side conceded thanks to an individual error on Saturday – but wouldn’t say whose it was. Jon Obi Mikel wasn’t a fan of this, telling the coach to name and shame, or say nothing at all.
Sevilla have just wrapped up a deal for a player who was being strongly linked to Chelsea’s sister club Strasbourg.
