Blues sweating on several new fitness doubts including Enzo Fernandez, Romeo Lavia and Levi Colwill
Chelsea are sweating on the fitness of Cole Palmer ahead of the Premier League clash against Wolves.
Palmer missed training on Friday after he was injured during Tuesday’s 2-2 draw with Bournemouth and the Blues star is a doubt for the game at Stamford Bridge on Monday night.
Chelsea will assess Palmer over the weekend but manager Enzo Maresca has said he hopes the 22-year-old will be fit.
Levi Colwill, Romeo Lavia and Enzo Fernandez also missed training on Friday and face a race to be fit to play against Wolves.
Palmer and Colwill both suffered knocks in the Bournemouth game, while midfielders Lavia and Fernandez have muscle fatigue.
Speaking on Friday, Maresca said: “We have Cole; he is a doubt. Levi was not in the session today. Enzo was not in the session today. Romeo was not in the session today. We have three or four doubts after the last game.
“First half, they kicked him [Palmer]. He didn’t train today. We don’t know if he’s going to train tomorrow or in two days.”
Maresca has a decision to make at centre-back, where Trevoh Chalobah is available having been recalled early from his loan spell at Crystal Palace to help ease a shortage after hamstring injuries to Wesley Fofana and Benoit Badiashile.
Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall also remains sidelined, while Mykhailo Mudryk is still unavailable.
Predicted Chelsea XI (4-2-3-1): Sanchez; Caicedo, Tosin, Colwill, Cucurella; Fernandez, Lavia; Madueke, Palmer, Sancho; Jackson
Doubts: Palmer, Colwill, Fernandez, Lavia
Injured: Fofana, Badiashile, Dewsbury-Hall, Kellyman
Unavailable: Mudryk
