George moves to Merseyside to provide cover for the injured Jack Grealish
Chelsea youngster Tyrique George has joined Everton on loan for the remainder of the season.
The 19-year-old winger was given permission to undergo a medical on Merseyside on transfer Deadline Day, with the deal being officially announced by both clubs after the window had closed.
George was close to leaving Chelsea in the summer transfer window, only for a switch to Fulham to collapse on Deadline Day.
However, Standard Sport reported before the winter transfer window opened that the club were willing to sell or loan out George after struggling for game time during the first half of the season.
Everton were one of a number of English and European clubs following George’s situation in January, and they have managed to win the race.
George is a direct replacement for fellow loanee Jack Grealish, after the Manchester City winger was ruled out for the season with a stress fracture in his foot which could require surgery.
The England youth international moves to Goodison Park despite the Toffees’ failure to offload Dwight McNeil, who was set to move to Crystal Palace at the last hour.
However, a deal for the winger could not be completed before the deadline, with a deal sheet not going through in time.
