Chelsea’s Axel Disasi undergoes West Ham medical

Chelsea centre-back Axel Disasi (27) is undergoing a medical to complete a loan move to West Ham United, according to RMC Sport’s Fabrice Hawkins. The France international defender was yet to feature for Chelsea’s senior team this season and a departure this winter was likely. West Ham have reportedly paid their London-based Premier League rivals a €2m loan fee.

For the second time in his Chelsea career, Disasi is loaned out to a Premier League side considering that, a year ago, the former AS Monaco centre-back was allowed to spend the remainder of the previous campaign on loan at Aston Villa after being frozen out by Enzo Maresca. In East London, Disasi is set to reunite with fellow France internationals Jean-Clair Todibo and Alphonse Areola.
