Chelsea's best and worst players in tricky Man Utd draw

Article image:Chelsea's best and worst players in tricky Man Utd draw

Chelsea's miserable run of form at Old Trafford continued on Sunday with a disappointing 1-1 draw with Manchester United.

The Blues had their chances but, aside from Moises Caicedo's sublime equaliser, can hardly say they did enough to win a game which provided very little quality from either side.

Here are Chelsea's best and worst players from the game according to 90min's player ratings.

Moises Caicedo - 9/10

Let's just forget the goal - the sensational, technically mesmeric volley - for one second because Caicedo's all-round performance was worthy of such praise even before he crashed into the back of Andre Onana's net.

A relentless defensive performance from Caicedo, who buzzed around with his typical indefatigable style to extinguish fires and recycle possession for a Chelsea side who really should have done more with such a dominant foundation beneath them.

Honourable mention

Cole Palmer - 7/10

Nobody in attack showed the best of themselves here, but if anybody in Chelsea's forward line was going to score, it would have been the chilly man himself, Cole Palmer.

Palmer created three chances for his teammates and fired in three shots of his own in a performance which featured plenty of neat flicks and movements but perhaps lacked the je ne sais quoi needed to take this game by the scruff of the horns.

Chelsea's worst player vs Man Utd

Malo Gusto - 4/10

Hooked at half-time after a bitterly disappointing 45 minutes, there are no prizes for identifying Malo Gusto as Chelsea's biggest issue in this game.

Playing in the right-back role that sees him spend more time in attacking midfield, Gusto simply never looked comfortable. His composure on the ball was lacking, as was his end product, and it left fans questioning why Reece James was being kept in a reserved left-back role.

Robert Sanchez - 5/10

Not for the first time this season, Chelsea find themselves looking at their goalkeeper for answers as to how they have not walked away with a better result. Robert Sanchez conceded an early penalty in the 2-1 defeat to Liverpool and sent Bruno Fernandes to the spot here with a needless trip on Rasmus Hojlund.

The build-up to this game saw Enzo Maresca questioned about his ongoing faith in Sanchez. Expect eyebrows to be raised half an inch higher after this display.
