Chivas Femenil opened the Clausura 2026 in strong fashion, as they defeated Atlético San Luis 2-0 on Sunday morning to begin their journey in the new Liga MX Femenil campaign. With this result, the Rebaño have now picked up points in 17 of their 18 season openers in the league.
Antonio Contreras’ side got the job done, as in addition to earning all three points, they saw Jasmine Casarez score her first goal in her new colors and kept a clean sheet—one of the team’s greatest strengths throughout 2025. Although the visitors started the match with plenty of intensity, the Red-and-White side held firm defensively and stepped on the gas at just the right moments to overcome their opponent.
An unfamiliar venue awaits Guadalajara in Matchday 2 of the CL26, as they will travel to the Estadio Centenario de Morelos to face Cruz Azul next Saturday, January 10, at 3:45 PM.
The Goals- Dream debut for ‘Jas’! In the 60th minute, Jasmine Casarez appeared at the far post to meet a cross from ‘Caro’ Jaramillo on the left, heading the ball home to score in her debut as a Rojiblanca.
- Montero doubles the lead. Casandra Montero made it 2-0 in the 71st minute after Denise Castro brought the ball down inside the box, setting up a right-footed finish from the No. 7.
