Chivas Femenil successfully navigated their Matchday 7 fixture of the Clausura 2026, defeating Necaxa 0–2 at Estadio Aguascalientes. With the victory, Antonio Contreras’ side reached 19 points in the tournament and remains in the fight for the top spots in the standings.
Facing an opponent sitting very deep, practically camped at the edge of their own box, the Rebaño showed patience in capitalizing on their attacking forays. By stretching the field, the Guadalajara side broke down a tight, scrappy match through a transition down the left flank, from where they maintained control of the game. Once again, an aerial ball proved to be the key for Las Rojiblancas to secure a more comfortable result.
Guadalajara will now turn its attention to a trip to the Red-and-White Capital, where they will face Pumas on Matchday 8 at Estadio Olímpico Universitario.
Goals
- ‘Lichaaaaa!’ At the 31st minute, La Depredadora appeared in the box to head home Isabela Esquivias’ cross and open the scoring.
- ‘Boyiiii!’ At the 88th minute, Adriana Iturbide headed in from a corner kick to add the second for the Rojiblancas.
Chances created
- As early as the 4th minute, Caro Jaramillo headed a lofted ball inside the box that went very close to the Necaxa goal.
- Oof! At the 16th minute, a great hold-up play by Denise inside the area allowed Vanessa González to get a shooting angle. She went for a low shot that narrowly missed becoming the opener.
- This time it was Denise! At the 14th minute, Castro rose unmarked in the box to head a corner kick, but her effort struck the crossbar and did not cross the goal line.
- At the 25th minute, Licha picked up the ball outside the area and unleashed a right-footed shot that went straight to the goalkeeper.
- At the 28th minute, 'La Depredadora' and 'La Comandante' combined, allowing Jaramillo to volley toward the near post, but the shot sailed over the crossbar.
- At the 46th minute, Vanessa González rattled the crossbar after a rebound inside the box.
- On the following play, a cross from Vane found Licha, who grazed the ball but couldn’t beat the goalkeeper.
- At the 79th minute, Joseline Montoya headed an effort that ended up safely in the goalkeeper’s hands.
