Aldo Rocha is very much on the radar of Chivas, but a report suggests that the midfielder’s wage demands may scupper a potential move to the Flock.

Ricardo Peláez, the director of football at Chivas, recently insisted that the club is going to keep the core of their exciting young squad together.

But they do not want to rest on their laurels, and TUDN has reported that the board of Los Rojiblancos are keen to add Rocha to their ranks.

The 27-year-old has been with Monarcas Morelia since 2017, though that club has now moved and been renamed Mazatlán FC.

Chivas want to bring Rocha to Guadalajara, but it is proving tough to offer him the salary his desires.

The club’s players and staff agreed to defer wages back in April in response to the financial crisis brought about by the Covid-19 pandemic.

The 2020 Clausura was suspended in March before it was decided to cancel the season late last month.

Chivas will continue to try and find a way to make the Rocha switch work, with the possibility of veteran midfielder José Juan Vázquez going the opposite direction to sweeten the deal.
