On Tuesday, Chivas announced the first of what’s sure to be many moves this summer.
Tony Alfaro, who was just acquired in January from Seattle Sounders, has been loaned to Atlético Zacatepec, a team that plays in Ascenso MX.
The soon-to-be 26-year-old is in desperate need of first-team experience after playing just 171 minutes with Chivas last season, including a lone Liga MX start against Pumas at the end of March.
Zacatepec are coming off a third-placed regular-season finish in Mexico’s second tier, however, they were eliminated by Venados in the first round of the Liguilla.
