Chivas have confirmed that Cristian Calderón was hospitalised after a colliding with a team-mate at training on Tuesday.
Reports in Mexico say that ‘Chicote’ needed to be stretchered away after the incident at Valle Verde.
The 24-year-old was taken to a local hospital in Guadalajara where he was assessed and underwent precautionary testing.
The Flock have commented on the situation, saying that the left-sided player “did not lose consciousness” as a result of the blow.
Chivas are expected to release the results of the tests later on Tuesday.
Given that Calderón was admitted to hospital, he must be a considered a serious doubt for Saturday’s Apertura clash with Juárez.
He started in the opening-day loss to Atlético San Luis, and came on as a late substitute in last Friday’s 2-0 win at Puebla.
