Chloe Kelly has spoken out about a potential permanent transfer to Arsenal and while she is fully focused on Euro 2025, it is clear that the England superstar is keen on a move.
With her contract with Manchester City expiring this summer it seems that Chloe Kelly will be on the move before the new WSL season begins.
Kelly’s career with City ended on a sour note which resulted in the Lioness spending the final six months of the season on loan with league rivals Arsenal.
As reported on SheKicks earlier this week, Kelly has granted Arsenal with a period of exclusivity in the transfer market this summer, but she is yet to agree to any deal with the club.
Speaking this week at England’s training camp in St. George’s Park, Kelly was questioned about her future in the WSL but she kept it clear that Euro 2025 is her sole priority.
“To be honest, I’m just allowing my representatives to do the work behind the scenes.” Kelly said. “My focus is solely on England. They [Arsenal] took me from a really dark place and gave me an opportunity but we achieved incredible things together, so let’s see what happens.”
It is clear that the 27-year-old has turned around her career in North London and after admitting that the team saved her from some ‘dark times’, it would be a shame to see Kelly play anywhere else next year.
“I feel like I’ve grown so much from being at Arsenal. Every day I was learning from a great manager in Renée [Slegers]. I learned so much on the pitch and off the pitch from her. She’s a great person and to come away with a Champions League is incredible. She gave me belief and confidence and I will always be grateful for her.”
With the England forward coming into the Euros this summer brimming with confidence, Sarina Wiegman can expect the Euro 2022 winner to provide a serious threat – even if she does feature off the bench.
The Lionesses are currently priced at 4/1 to win Euro 2025 this summer with the best UK betting sites, and just 11/8 to win group D.
