Antoine Griezmann has suffered a low‑grade muscle injury to his left thigh during Friday training, and his return will depend on how the problem evolves.

The club said in a statement that medical tests, including an MRI, detected the issue. No timeframe was provided.

The forward was injured at the Ciudad Deportiva de Majadahonda, following the draw against Galatasaray in the Champions League.

It happened while preparing for Sunday’s LaLiga EA Sports fixture at the Riyadh Air Metropolitano against RCD Mallorca. He will not train with the group until a further medical assessment.

His rehabilitation will include individual work and physiotherapy under the guidance of the medical staff.

Earlier in the week Atlético announced Clément Lenglet’s return from injury, yet Griezmann’s absence is a setback in attack, and Diego Simeone will need to adjust his options.
