Sky Germany reports that VfB Stuttgart winger Chris Führich will stay at VfB Stuttgart this summer after conversations with the bosses and Sebastian Hoeneß.

Talks between Führich, Fabian Wohlgemuth and head coach Hoeneß took place where it was said by the winger that he will stay at Stuttgart and he is uninterested in changing clubs. The 26-year-old had a release clause in his contract that was worth €22m but that has now expired.

Stuttgart had already begun planning for next season with Führich as after the sales of Serhou Guirassy, Waldemar Anton and Hiroki Ito, the club is not reliant on any income from the transfer.

VfB have also rejected any possible successor for the German international. The club were recently linked with Borussia Mönchengladbach winger Robin Hack as a possible replacement for Führich but instead the Castrop-Rauxel native opted for Champions League football at the MHP Arena.

Earlier this year, Führich had attracted interest from Bundesliga sides Bayern Munich, Borussia Dortmund, RB Leipzig and Bayer Leverkusen as well as Chelsea.

Last season, Führich played a key role in Stuttgart qualifying for the Champions League. The 26-year-old did not miss a game scoring eight goals and assisting seven as VfB finished second in the Bundesliga.
