Leeds United launch their second Premier League campaign at Nottingham Forest this afternoon, and Chris Sutton and Alan Shearer both foresee a draw. Sutton has gone for 1-1.
Daniel Farke’s side won four of their six friendlies and head to the City Ground buoyed by smart recruitment after last season’s 14th-place finish. Forest battled Leeds to survive last term, and Oliver Glasner’s arrival from Crystal Palace could lift them away from trouble.
According to BBC Sport, Sutton praised Farke for keeping Leeds up last year and said there will be high hopes of staying clear of danger after bringing in Harry Wilson and James Trafford. He called the opener almost impossible to call, even raising whether Glasner would still be in place by September.
Leeds could hand debuts to all four summer signings. Nico Elvedi is registered to feature after an £8.5 million move from Borussia Monchengladbach, while Wilson, Tarik Muharemovic and club record signing Trafford all impressed in pre-season.
Shearer told the Metro he also finds this a tough one to predict and is going for a draw. He thinks Leeds will do all right this season after a couple of good additions, and said Glasner is a strong appointment who knows the Premier League after excelling at Palace.
