Christian Eriksen has signed for Wolfsburg following his release from Manchester United.
The Danish midfielder was let go by United in the summer upon the expiration of his contract, and there were reports earlier in the window that he had turned down a bold approach from Championship side Wrexham.
Now, the former Spurs and Brentford man has made the switch to Germany.
"VfL Wolfsburg is my first club in the Bundesliga - I'm really looking forward to this new adventure,” Eriksen said.
“I am convinced we can achieve something together at Wolfsburg.
"The fact that there are several familiar faces in the squad from the Danish national team makes VfL a particularly attractive proposition for me."
Danish journalist Farzam Abolhosseini reported that Peter Christiansen, Wolfsburg’s managing director, had played a key role in luring his compatriot to the Bundesliga.
Eriksen featured 35 times in all competitions for United last term, but his playing time was hampered when Ruben Amorim took over the reins from Erik ten Hag at Old Trafford.
The 33-year-old was an unused substitute in United’s two Europa League semi-final legs against Athletic Bilbao, as well as the final defeat by Tottenham at the San Mames.
He scored five goals and added six assists for the Red Devils last season.
