United managed an amazing 13 shots on target from their total 26 cracks at goal. In comparison, Barnsley only had three shots, none of which required Altay Bayindir to swing into action.

The Red Devils had 66% possession to Barnsley’s 34% share of the ball.

Erik ten Hag’s men managed to put together 636 passes with a pass accuracy of 88%. Barnsley on the other hand string 328 passes with a pass completion rate of 76%.

There were several great performers on the night but the outstanding one was Eriksen.

Beyond his contributions in front of goal, the Denmark international controlled proceedings in the middle of the park and helped United maintain their dominance from start to finish.

He had 65 touches of the ball to his name. Eriksen also found his teammates with 53 of the 55 passes he attempted, managing an individual pass accuracy of 96%. Two of his passes were key passes.

The midfielder tried to connect with one cross and four long balls. He successfully found his target with all four long balls he pinged but not with his crossing attempt.

The two shots on target he had to his name all resulted in goals.

The 32-year-old embarked on two dribbles, completing one. He delved into four ground duels and came out on top on three occasions.

Eriksen drew two fouls.
