Christian Eriksen ‘to return’ to Ajax remains a possibility

Wolfsburg captain Christian Eriksen has agreed to part ways with the club, and a return to former side Ajax remains a possibility. Recent rumours say he is expected to head back to Amsterdam.

Sport BILD claims any sale of the skipper would bring a lower transfer fee.

The 34-year-old's departure, together with potential sales of Mohamed Amoura, Patrick Wimmer, Kamil Grabara and Lovro Majer, is expected to raise close to €100 million.

Wolfsburg have not given up on signing Hertha Berlin pair Tjark Ernst and Fabian Reese.

Both the goalkeeper and the attacker are said to have given their word to Wolfsburg, but that was before their relegation.

Talks are ongoing to determine whether the duo from the German capital club would accept a move to another second-division side.
