Christian Pulisic keen on AC Milan extension after strong start under Ruben Amorim | OneFootball

Christian Pulisic wants to extend his AC Milan contract after an encouraging start under Ruben Amorim. The forward has entered the final year of his deal and improved form has prompted talks over a new agreement.

"It has been a strange start to the season. I was coming back from an injury and I really wanted to play, but it took time," he told Sky Sport Italia.

"I worked with the team and coach to get back on the field. We are learning his system, how he wants to play." The 28-year-old recently ended his league drought against Lecce, his first since last December.

"He wants us to find certain positions, especially when we have the ball, and to make specific movements. Obviously, we are also given some freedom in attack, but there are principles and positions to keep to."

He skipped United States duty this window, staying at Milanello to build sharpness after an injury sustained at the World Cup.

"I am very happy at Milan. The club is giving me everything, it helps me a great deal. I am concentrating on playing, but we'll talk about it, I hope soon. I feel really happy at Milan and want to continue here."

Owner Gerry Cardinale is reportedly preparing a long-term offer running until 2031 to keep the winger at San Siro.

Amorim's side are fifth in Serie A, two points behind leaders Roma and unbeaten domestically. They must respond in the Europa League after an opening defeat to Benfica.
