Recently announcing her retirement from soccer, Rayadas legend Christina Burkenroad reflects on her career on the latest episode of the Urban Pitch Podcast!

In the nearly eight years since Christina Burkenroad was last on the Urban Pitch Podcast, she’s lived a lifetime. It was December 2018, and she was plying her trade with Sparta Prague, still finding her bearings in the tumultuous landscape of pro soccer.

A move to Liga Femenil side Monterrey in 2020 would be career defining, as she’d quickly find a home with Rayadas and became one of the most prolific goal scorers in both the league and the entire world.

She’d score over 100 goals in six seasons with the club, and after announcing her retirement in August 2026, she leaves as one of the best players in Monterrey’s storied history.

She returns to the Urban Pitch Podcast to discuss her success in Mexico, differences between Liga Femenil and the NWSL, and what lies ahead of her in her post-playing career.
