Christos Tzolis was welcomed back at Club Brugge on Sunday, weeks after sealing a £34 million move to Arsenal, receiving an ovation before the 1-0 derby win over Cercle Brugge.

The 24-year-old was introduced on the pitch and performed a ceremonial fake kick-off, acknowledging supporters from a successful two-year spell in Belgium. He scored 43 goals in 108 games for Brugge across all competitions.

Tzolis has started sharply for Arsenal, laying on two assists in the 3-0 Community Shield victory against Manchester City, then another in Friday’s 3-0 league win over Coventry.
