Brian Kibambe Cipenga has been named among three nominees for LaLiga’s Segunda División player of the month for February. According to El Periódico Mediterráneo, the DR Congo winger is in contention after a standout run of form.

He opened the month by setting up Lucas Alcázar in the 2-0 win over FC Andorra.

Seven days later, he capped a 0-4 victory at Valladolid with a superb strike. On Sunday, he also appears in the clip of Álex Calatrava’s goal in the 2-0 against RC Deportivo de La Coruña, a result that sent Castellón top on their own.

The other nominees are Sergio Arribas of Almería and Gorka Carrera of Real Sociedad B.

Cipenga has featured in 18 of 26 league matches, limited by call-ups with Congo, who are one play-off from the World Cup. He has logged 1,327 minutes, scoring five goals and providing six assists.

In total, he has had a hand in 25% of Castellón’s goals, averaging a goal contribution every 120 minutes.

Castellón still have two February fixtures, Saturday 21 February 2026 at 21:00 in Las Palmas, then seven days later at the same time against Racing de Santander at SkyFi Castalia. Cipenga’s contract expires at the end of the season.
