According to Mundo Deportivo, representatives from the Barcelona City Council inspected the progress of the Camp Nou renovation on Tuesday.
The Blaugrana continue to await the signing of the final works certificate (CFO) for the Main Stand and South Goal – a prerequisite for processing the first occupancy licence from the city council.
Barcelona remain determined to reopen Spotify Camp Nou for the weekend of 13-14 September, when Valencia are due to visit in LaLiga, with a planned capacity of 27,000 spectators.
However, time is running short and the necessary authorisations have yet to be secured.
This Tuesday, there was a visit from members of the Barcelona City Council to check the state of the renovation works at the stadium.
However, contrary to reports, Barcelona still do not have the final works certificate (CFO) for the Tribune and the South Stand signed, and therefore, the City Council cannot yet process the first occupancy licence that would allow around 27,000 spectators to attend the return.

Complicating matters further, Montjuic – the club’s Plan B, secured until February – will not be available that weekend due to a Post Malone concert.
La Liga has already rejected the possibility of reversing the fixture order to play at Mestalla, leaving Girona’s Montilivi as the only realistic fallback option, though the Catalan club has not yet been contacted.
As reported earlier this week, Barça are pressing ahead with Plan A, confident that the paperwork can be finalised in the coming weeks. Nonetheless, the margin for error is narrowing by the day.
With just over two weeks remaining before the scheduled return, the coming days will be decisive in determining whether Barcelona can stage their homecoming at Spotify Camp Nou or must continue elsewhere for the start of the season.
