AC MILAN’S 2023/24

Last term, Paulo Fonseca’s AC Milan finished second in Serie A on 75 points – 20 behind champions Inter.

A strong start to the campaign saw them win seven of their first eight matches before a four-game winless streak saw them drop from the summit.

But a turn of form saw them lose just four more top-flight matches before the end of the campaign.

In the UEFA Champions League, Milan finished third with eight points from six assignments and in turn qualified for the Europa League.

They went on to beat Rennes 5-3 on aggregate I the play-offs before a 7-3 aggregate triumph over Slavia Prague in the Round of 16.

A 3-1 defeat to Roma saw AC Milan dismissed in the quarter-finals.

In the Coppa Italia, a 4-1 win over Cagliari in the Round of 16 saw them progress to the final eight. But a narrow 2-1 defeat to Atalanta saw them fall just shy of the semi-finals.

PREVIOUS MEETING

It’s been 10 years since City and AC Milan went toe-to-toe, and it was in similar circumstances.

Goals from Stevan Jovetic, Gael Clichy, Jesus Navas and Kelechi Iheanacho topped off an impressive pre-season performance.
