City’s Academy: The month ahead

Everything you need to know about the upcoming fixtures for our Elite Development Squad and Under-18s.

2025 is starting with a blockbuster month of fixtures for both Ben Wilkinson and Oliver Reiss’s sides.

Both teams returned to the City Football Academy after a short winter break and are now ready to continue fighting in their respective competitions.

EDS FIXTURES

City v Brighton | Monday 13 January, 19:00 (UK) | Premier League 2

Our first PL2 game of 2025 will see us welcome the Seagulls to the Joie Stadium for an evening kick-off.

The clash, as City fight to stay at the league summit, will be available to watch live on CITY+. The stream will start shortly before the game begins. Highlights and a CITY+ full-match replay will also be available after the final whistle.

City v Stoke | Friday 17 January, 19:00 (UK) | Premier League 2

Just a few days later our EDS will be back in action with another home tie.

Available to watch every kick live on CITY+, our game against Stoke will be streamed from 19:00 (UK).

A comprehensive match report and post-match reaction, as well as highlights and a CITY+ full-match replay, will be available on our website and app shortly after the final whistle.

Wolverhampton Wanderers v City | Friday 24 January, 19:00 (UK) | Premier League 2

To complete the month, Wilkinson and his side will travel to the West Midlands as we continue to fight for a place in the knockout stage of the Premier League 2.

Kick-off against Wolverhampton Wanderers is scheduled for 19:00 (UK) on Friday 24 January.

UNDER-18S FIXTURES

City v Everton | Saturday 11 January, 11:30 (UK) | Under-18 Premier League North

Our Under-18s return to action with a home game against the Toffees. The clash will be available to watch live on CITY+ with highlights and a full-match replay, via CITY+, available shortly after full-time.

We will be looking to extend our winning run to 10 successive matches as we chase down the Under-18 Premier League North summit.

City v Millwall | Thursday 16 January, 19:00 (UK) | FA Youth Cup

We are back in FA Youth Cup action the following week. We welcome Millwall to the Joie Stadium in our fourth-round affair.

Our 2024/25 campaign in the competition, which City are looking to retain after last season’s triumph, began with a 1-0 win over Crystal Palace.

City v Leeds United | Saturday 25 January, 11:30 (UK) | Under-18 Premier League North

Our final Under-18s of January will see Reiss’s side welcome Leeds United to the City Football Academy.

One of the most exciting games in the calendar, watch every kick live via our CITY+ stream. Our first encounter earlier this season ended in a draw - both teams will be looking for a better result this time round.
